AUSTIN (KXAN) - An argument turned deadly Saturday morning after a woman and man were found shot inside of a car in north Austin. Police are still looking for clues in the city's latest homicide.

Police responded to the 500 block of Hardin Court around 2:00 a.m. in response to several reports of a loud argument outside.

"The call came out as a nature unknown…. people fighting or having an argument in the background. It was later listed as a ‘shots fired’ call," said Anthony Hipolito of the Austin Police Department.

Once police arrived they found a man and woman shot inside of a car. The woman died at the scene and the man was transported to Brackenridge Hospital with unknown injuries.

"According to witnesses another vehicle did flee the scene," Hipolito added.

Officers located the vehicle down the street. One subject in that vehicle was taken into custody on unrelated charges.

The names of the victim and individual arrested have not yet been released.

Officials are asking anyone with information about this case, which they are calling a suspicious death, to call the APD homicide tip line at 512-477-3588.
